# Nike Stock Launches as Tokenized Equity on Solana

Nike stock is now represented on Solana by [NKE](https://x.com/solana/status/2097334073127776650?s=20&ref=solanahorizon.com), a new token issued by [Backpack Securities](https://backpack.exchange/stocks/NKE?ref=solanahorizon.com) and listed on [Sunrise](https://www.solanahorizon.com/tag/sunrise/).

The tokenized asset was issued as a 1:1 redeemable representation of Nike stock. Eligible users can trade the token around the clock through decentralized exchanges and apps including DFlow, Phantom, Jupiter, and Raydium.

The Backpack Securities model differs from a synthetic token that only tracks a stock’s price. Its shares are held through regulated U.S. brokerage infrastructure, and holders can move their exposure back into traditional brokerage accounts.

## What Launched

NKE is a Solana token tied to Nike equity. Backpack Securities issued it, and Sunrise helped bring it onchain. Sunrise published this Solana contract address: `NKEda5nHhNGgjrE9nDdMvaEmkmJ96qqxzBVZEcKmjSg`.

Each NKE token is intended to be backed 1:1 by Nike shares held in regulated U.S. brokerage accounts. The token is therefore tied to the underlying security instead of functioning only as an onchain price bet.

Tokenized shares can trade continuously, settle quickly, and move between Solana wallets, exchanges, and other applications instead of remaining within a brokerage interface and traditional market hours.

## StonkFun Adds NKE-Paired Token Launches

Solana applications are also using tokenized equities as market infrastructure.

[StonkFun](https://x.com/LaunchOnSF/status/2097331618969194762?s=20&ref=solanahorizon.com), Solana's recent viral app success targeting stock-paired asset issuance, said users can now launch coins paired with NKE. The platform lets users create fixed-supply tokens with one-sided Raydium markets quoted against memes, stocks, currencies, commodities, or other tokens, serving as a primary competitor to Robinhood Chain's [LONG](https://app.long.xyz/?ref=solanahorizon.com).

Using NKE as a quote asset gives the token another purpose beyond buying or selling Nike exposure; a creator can pair a token’s liquidity with NKE instead of SOL, USDC, or another conventional crypto asset.

A stock-backed Solana token can move beyond its issuer’s interface into decentralized exchange pools, aggregators, wallets, and launch tools. This flexibility is one reason proponents put real-world assets onchain. It also makes issuer controls, liquidity quality, and compliance important.

## A Broader Capital Markets Experiment

Stock tokens give Solana applications familiar assets to route through DeFi. At the same time, issuers and brokerages are testing whether onchain distribution can operate alongside securities rules, redemption rights, and traditional custody.

NKE follows earlier tokenized equity launches on Solana, including Backpack Securities and Sunrise’s work with assets such as MSTR-related stock exposure.
