MoneyGram Ramps Launches on Solana With Cash Access Across 170+ Markets

MoneyGram has launched its Ramps infrastructure on Solana, giving developers a way to connect applications directly to the payments company’s cash-to-crypto and crypto-to-cash network through a single API.

The integration supports cash deposits in more than 25 countries and cash withdrawals across more than 170 countries and territories. MoneyGram Ramps is also available through the payments module of the Solana Developer Platform (SDP).

The integration connects Solana-based payment applications with MoneyGram’s physical cash distribution network. MoneyGram says it serves more than 60 million active customers through more than 480,000 retail locations and operates across more than 200 countries and territories.

MoneyGram Ramps is an API product that lets wallets, exchanges and other financial applications integrate fiat on- and off-ramps.

For Solana developers, the service provides a way to let users move between supported digital assets and local currency without each application establishing separate cash or banking integrations across individual markets. The integration includes API credentials, sandbox access, documentation and software development kits.

The infrastructure can support products such as remittances and contractor/gig-worker payouts where recipients need to convert digital assets into cash.

MoneyGram Ramps is integrated into SDP’s payments module, which brings together infrastructure for fiat and stablecoin payment flows, including on-ramps, off-ramps and onchain transactions.

Rift, an AI-focused trading platform and wallet, is the first Solana application announced as integrating MoneyGram Ramps. Rift users will be able to move between crypto assets and local currency through the company’s network.

MoneyGram Chairman and CEO Anthony Soohoo said the integration is part of the company’s effort to extend its payments network across additional platforms.

“Every platform we connect expands the reach of our network. Every customer we serve makes that network more valuable. Bringing MoneyGram Ramps to Solana is another step toward building a truly open, global payments network,” Soohoo said.
